Lohan, Dawson to gang up on 'Poor'

Lindsay Lohan, Rosario Dawson and Channing Tatum have joined the cast of grandma gang comedy "Poor Things," toplining Shirley MacLaine and Olympia Dukakis and directed by Ash Baron Cohen.
MacLaine's also producing with Rob Hickman through his newly minted Still Rolling Prods. Shooting starts Wednesday.

Trent Haaga's script was inspired by real news events and crime scandals surrounding recent arrests and convictions of elderly women for exploits that have included scams and cons involving drug sales, insurance fraud and murder.

Lohan was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence Saturday after her convertible struck a curb, and investigators found what they believe is cocaine at the scene, police said. Thesp's most recent pic, "Georgia Rule," is in theaters now. During the filming of that pic, Lohan was reprimanded in a letter from Morgan Creek Films CEO James G. Robinson for showing up late for work. Producers of "Poor Things" say the thesp's weekend brush with the law will not affect production.

Dawson appeared in "Grindhouse."

Tatum toplined "Step Up" and is set to star in "Dear John" and crime actioner "Parcour."

"Poor Things" marks the first production for Still Rolling, which plans to develop and produce five projects over the next three years in the $5 million -$10 million budget range.
