The Mumbai police have registered a case against popular TV actor Shweta Tiwari’s husband Raja Chaudhari for allegedly assaulting her. Shweta, who has been married to Raja for over eight years, approached the police on Saturday evening. The couple has a five-year-old daughter. Sources said police are likely to question Chaudhari.According to police, the couple’s relationship was strained and they had frequent fights. On Saturday, they allegedly had another such argument.
Chaudhari’s career as an actor has not taken off, but the two had become fairly prominent during the telecast of the Nach Baliye show on Star. Insiders say there was a degree of acrimony even on the show’s sets.
“On the sets, Shweta would be rude to Raja in front of the other actors which would upset him. He even missed one performance,” said a source. Shweta had acted in movies before she got a break with Balaji Telefilms. The actor has been associated with the popular show ‘Kasauti Zindagi Kee’ for the past six years.
