The President and First Lady’s Inaugural Ball Dance

Obama Inaugural Dance
It’s probably the second most awaited event in any inauguration, the president and his first lady’s dance. At the Commander-in-Chief’s Inaugural Ball on January 21, President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama danced to Jennifer Hudson’s beautiful rendition of the soul classic, Let’s Stay Together. The president first gave a speech honoring American troops and urged the audience to give the brave men and women a round of applause. Afterwards, as way of introducing the first lady, he dropped this cute joke, “There’s one last thing I’ve gotta do. I’ve got a date,” to loud cheering from the audience.

The president then continued expressing his appreciation for the lady ‘who inspires’ him ‘everyday.’  Michelle Obama was radiant in a red chiffon gown from Jason Wu and shoes from Jimmy Choo.
It was a sweet, romantic take on an already-iconic dance. We wonder which couple are we going to see dancing next, in four years’ time!
